Keble String Orchestra
Keble String Orchestra (KSO) welcomes string players across the University, no matter what their playing ability is! We rehearse once a week and aim to play as well as possible; but we are a fairly relaxed and friendly ensemble, enjoying long break times to eat biscuits, drink coffee and have a chat. We perform regular informal concerts in the Chapel and hope to perform elsewhere in the future. Last year, our repertoire ranged from Mozart to Barber, Elgar to Janacek, and we are open to any suggestions that you have for our repertoire.
If you enjoy performing with other string players, then we would love to have you, but if you just want to come along to a few rehearsals to give it a go, then that is more than fine! Our orchestra consists of violins, violas, cellos and double basses; but we would love to work with other string players: perhaps a guitarist, a ukulele player, a banjo player, a harp player, you name it!
The String Orchestra is led by Samuel Whitby and Gabby Woodward. Please get in touch if you wish to take this role or take part in the orchestra. Feel free to ask any questions or take a look at our Facebook page.
